Sonja HOFBAUER

Sonja Hofbauer is a civil engineer and trainer for adult education who has previously worked as researcher at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna, in the fields of sustainable river basin and flood disaster management. Besides hydraulic modelling she gained experience with public participation processes in the context of the European Water Framework Directive. Before she joined hydrophil iC she worked in Cameroon in a long term programme for rural drinking water supply where she gained further experience in process documentation, data (e.g. Geographic Information Systems applications) and knowledge management as well as operation and maintenance of infrastructure. Sonja Hofbauer is now working for hydrophil iC in water supply and sanitation projects with a specific focus on capacity development aspects and as liaison person for individual experts.

Language skills: mother tongue - German, fluent in English, proficient in French, working knowledge in Portuguese, basic Dutch and Czech.
